Hundreds of elephant seals hauled out on the beach of the main rookery section along the coast. The huge males left a month or two ago. There are seals here year-round, but always different ones depending on their life cycle; a time to breed, a time to give birth, a time to be weaned, a time to molt. Right now it's the babies born in February and the adults which have returned to molt. |
