Two seal pups splashing about in a tide pool. Youngsters are weaned when their mothers abruptly leave and go back to sea. Then the young seals spend the next month alone, teaching themselves to swim before they head out into the open sea to hunt for their own food. It's easy to spot which seals are this year's pups - they are the light grey ones. |
