| A gravelly slope covered with bright yellow desert sunflowers. The plants are thin and sparse, with a single flower on the end of a tall thin stem, but when seen from the side like this they do give a distinctive golden cast to the hillside. The flowers also seem to stand out more in the sunshine, since they weren't nearly as visible this morning when the valley was still in the shade. |
