| The canyon gets progressively shallower as we head east along Desert View Drive. In the distance, beyond Cardenas Butte, the Colorado River can be seen flowing into the canyon. The Grand Canyon may be a mile deep, but it's not so much a case of the river dropping that low, as it is of the cliffs around the river rising up that high. |
