The homes in the old part of the city, were built tightly up against each other in a time well before the automobile. Everyone has to park their car on the road. The streets which run parallel to the waterfront are reasonably level, whereas the streets that run perpendicular to the harbour go steeply uphill. On this street the houses are all the same level since they are on one of the parallel streets. |
