| I noticed so many large stumps from trees that had obviously been cut down, so asked about it at the Visitor Center. Apparently the area that was devastated was not an old growth forest, but one that had been harvested before and was in the process of renewal. The cut stumps were from earlier logging that long pre-dated the blast. |
