| This handicapped snowy owl is a permanent resident of the Salmonier Nature Park, a place where injured and orphaned animals come to be treated until they can be released back into the wild. If their injuries are such that they won't make it back in the wild, they are allowed to stay, and the park becomes their retirement home. It's very odd to visit such a beautiful bird in a wide open enclosure with no roof - but he can't fly, so he doesn't need one. |
