Moose - June 28, 2008
Newfoundland is infamous for it's many moose. Locals refuse to drive at night because of the danger they pose. Along the west coast drive you are pretty much guaranteed to see some - even in the middle of the day. We saw 22 this trip. Moose are hard to photograph, even when they are standing right at the side of the road. They are used to vehicles zooming by and totally ignore them, but as soon as we stop, the moose charge into the forest. I got a lot of shots of the rear ends of moose as they disappeared into the trees. But these two stopped to turn around and have a second look at us. Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL
