Saskatchewan is dotted with ponds and marshes, and the wind is so strong, gusting over 100 km, that the ponds have actual waves. This road across shallow Gull Lake, is closed because the wind is driving the waves right over it. Fortunately for us, the wind is pretty much blowing directly from the west behind us, and it adds 200 kms extra to a single tank of gas. |
