This morning we find ourselves in 'Canada's desert', west of Kamloops, where the scenery is more reminiscent of what we'd find in the US Southwest - just arid slopes with sagebrush and thinly spread ponderosa pines. Many of the pines are dead - must be the work of the Rocky Mountain pine beetle. |
