| This pole was carved by Bruce Alfred in 1995 to commemorate the opening of the new road in front of the Namgis Burial Grounds after resolution of the land claims issues the Namgis First Nations had with the Department of Highways and the province of British Columbia. The pole also honours the people buried beneath the road. |
