| Love this image of the old poles. The Namgis people believe that nothing lasts forever. When a totem pole falls to the earth or something was damaged on it, it has served its purpose and it is time to make a new one. This is why their poles are not maintained or repainted. Even so, there is something very special about a stand of old deteriorating poles. |
