This building was originally designed to hold upright Saturn V rockets. Now it's where the space shuttles get lifted up onto the side of the booster rockets on the launch-support which is mounted on a giant crawler. About a month before a scheduled launch, the doors open after midnight and shuttle makes the trek on the crawler out to the launch-pad. |
