| An hour or so later, and we've climbed high up onto the Kaibab Plateau and left the desert behind. The road into the Grand Canyon North Rim is nothing like the South Rim. It reminds me more of the high mountain meadows in the Rockies - as in the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming - wide grassy meadows with aspen and evergreens. |
